To sell your home today, expect to pay around 10% of your home’s value. The biggest chunk? Real estate commission. Real estate agents demand about 6% of your home’s value in their fee which can be a lot of money. 

What if there was better technology that could connect sellers with potential buyers and remove the middle man? Both parties could save money and buy or sell a home just as easily.

The Solution

That’s what the startup, SimplSell wants to accomplish. Their application plans to integrate with Zillow to allow an average joe to make an offer--no real estate agent required. 

Within this application, buyers and sellers can chat, make, revise, and accept offers on the fly, without having to go through an agent. Here are the value propositions Devetry helped create during the discovery phase:

Messaging Features

Since messaging is a core differentiator, we wanted to emphasize the features that make it easy to buy/sell a home. Some of these messaging features include red versus green colors--to indicate read versus unread messages--and a message counter.

That, paired with in-message advisor support makes this inbox feature more valuable for the user.

Within the Inbox

Buying or selling a home is a big deal. Adding customer support within the inbox helps reassure both parties that a mediator is available.

Calendar Feature

A huge part of the buying/selling process is touring the home. So we recommended a calendar feature within the chat area--so users can easily schedule showings.

Working With Devetry

As of summer 2021, SimplSell isn’t built yet. The founder is seeking funding to hire a software development team. In order to prove their idea and commitment, they needed a prototype, which Devetry strategized and built. 

We analyzed the market, technology potential, and expenses required before assisting with requirements, key differentiators, and most value pages. Then we created a brand identity, designed pages, and showcased defining features. Here are the pages we eventually recommend be created:
